“Shitoria. This used to be our capital city. A clean, decent place we could be proud of. What an absolute disgrace.”
The video showed dilapidated buildings and a heavily littered street with sewage flowing freely. The person recording the video applauded the City of Tshwane for removing squatters from some of the vacant buildings.
“Tshwane is cleaning up our town, and they’re doing very well. We are tired of these people staying for free in our town,” the person taking the video says.

In the comments section, several netizens blamed either the ANC or the Democratic Alliance (DA) for the current state of Pretoria. Others criticised Cliff for missing context and suggested that the current leadership is now taking action.
Here are some of the comments:

“As far back as 2000, Marabastad had a couple of dilapidated buildings. I think what’s shocking is that so many have fallen apart now. A real-world example of broken windows theory.”

“These are the photos the mayor will never show you.”
@Schooty3 declared:
“The ANC obliterates everything.”
@Cliff_Hadji suggested:
“Then DA came in 2016 and the rest is History.”
@KeletsoOstelek explained:
“This is embarrassing for someone with such big audience to comment nonsense without context, the City is currently cleaning the place, and yes, they removed the very same people DA allowed to trade without paying rent/utilities, those buildings will be demolished.”
