It's all systems go for the March and March protests, taking place on Friday, 1 August 2025, in Durban. Former Vuma FM radio presenter Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma is pioneering this movement, despite the controversy surrounding it.
Ngobese-Zuma has called on people with similar interests to join the public protests at Gugu Dlamini Park. This movement, according to Zuma, was made possible by like-minded people on social media who also see the impacts of illegal immigration.
According to TshisaLIVE, what drove Ngobese to start this initiative was the concerns she received from people on her radio platform. Listeners apparently contacted her to complain about their lack of access to healthcare facilities and job scarcity, blaming the illegal immigrants.

Jacinta-Ngobese rallies people to join movement
Taking to Facebook on Wednesday, 30 July, Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma spoke about the effects of activism and how one can be said to be a criminal for standing up for their beliefs. She used the example of Nelson Mandela and how he was once perceived to being a criminal.
"Nelson Mandela was once considered a criminal in his own country and a communist in the eyes of the United States, where he remained on a terrorism watch list until 2008. This is proof that fighting for what is right and just will not always gain you favour, especially from those who are beneficiaries of the unjust system."
She further rallies people to be serious about their activism without fear of being cast out.
"You will be labelled, sworn at, threatened, crucified and castrated and yes, maybe even lose your job and possibly END your career because nobody else will employ you because of your activism, but does it mean STOP??? No. It just means go HARDER because change must come…Ningatatazeli. We continue March and March -Until we Win. God Bless SOUTH AFRICA. I love this country so much, and I know that God and our forefathers are with us; we shall win."

KZN health MEC at the centre of Ngobese-Zuma's axing
In a previous report from Briefly News, it was alleged that KwaZulu-Natal Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane had a hand in Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma's dismissal from Vuma FM.
Jacinta issued a statement announcing her axing from the radio station after being on the airwaves for six years. Sources alleged that Nomagugu Simelane wanted Ngobese-Zuma off the radio station.
“She made it clear that if the station did not dismiss her, she would not only withdraw Department of Health adverts but also persuade other KZN government departments to do the same,” the source said.
