How did Annie and Daguru meet?
Annie Mthembu, formerly Annie Ludick, met Durban nightclub owner Kgolo “Da Guru” Mthembu in 2016 when she worked as his personal assistant. The pair’s relationship grew over the years, and in 2021, they tied the knot in a lavish wedding at La Paris Estate in Franschhoek, Cape Town. Their celebration was marked by tragedy, as during their traditional wedding weekend, they lost their baby son to stillbirth.
By late 2022, the couple had separated, although they did not immediately go public with the news. In August 2025, Annie confirmed they had been apart for nearly three years, explaining that the breakdown of trust, communication, and respect made reconciliation impossible. She has since focused on her healing and her children, while Kgolo has faced further financial challenges, including selling furniture and one of his nightclubs.
