Businessman Kgolo Daguru has opened up about his healing journey after apologising to his ex-wife and former The Real Housewives of Durban star, Annie Mthembu, on social media.
This comes after Mthembu shared in a podcast interview this week that the businessman cheated on her while they were married.
Celebrity blogger Maphepha Ndaba shared a screenshot on Saturday, 16 August 2025, of Daguru's Instagram Story, in which he opened up about his healing journey and forgiveness.
The businessman wrote: "Maybe I deserved it or not. But a lot was said and done when I was at my lowest. It took me a lot of prayers, resilience, and taking accountability to rebuild myself.

Relationship expert Paula Quinsee spoke to Briefly News journalist Tayananiswa Zvikaramba on the benefits of publicly discussing relationship issues.
Quinsee said it is important for couples to publicly discuss their relationship and emotional struggles because it normalises mental health and shows that celebrities also face difficulties.
She however stressed that where and how these struggles are shared matters. Paula Quinsee explained:
"It is important for couples and individuals to speak up about their relationship and emotional struggles, which helps normalise mental health, and that everyone faces challenges in their life and relationship; however, context can play a key role: Public disclosures can feel like a betrayal or emotional ambush, especially if they have not been discussed together as a couple. Engaging with a therapist or counsellor in a private setting creates a safe space where one can unpack, reflect and process issues individually and collectively to find a way forward."

@MrsNoma reacted:
"I find this topic of podcasting a bit disturbing🤞🏾. When a marriage ends, we all know something went wrong. Should we now share our one-sided story on social media? To some extent, surely we have a responsibility towards our exes & accept some things should forever remain private. Yes, seek help for your healing journey and talk to the relevant people. I draw the line at telling it to the world🤞🏾. That being said, each to their own🌻."
@Zintombizethu commented:
"She fell too quickly on her marriage high horse. I remember that snide comment she made when LaC voluntarily taught her how to make umqombothi, (traditional beer) and she said, Oh, she has more time in her hands because she doesn’t have a husband. Oh, well, I hope she heals 🤍."
@millice91455452 said:
"I think if Kgolo was still as rich as he was, she would have made it work, she hides behind the the cheating."

"Guys gaslight you so much, they get mad at you for believing outsiders. Then later, when you actually see proof, you’re like, 'Oh damn, I believed this person.' As much as she was quirky, I now understand her, because I’m also a ndoda must (a man must) I won’t let anyone tell me anything about my partner until I’ve seen it for myself, no matter what you say. If you’ve never dated a man who tells you, 'don’t let people come between us,' then you haven’t experienced anything yet."
