Sol Phenduka has reportedly been placed on suspension from Kaya959.

In a statement said to be from Kaya, shared by Twitter (X) user TvblogbyMLU on 20 August 2025, the popular radio station confirmed that Phenduka had been suspended with immediate effect as he undergoes an "internal process":

"This step has been taken pending the outcome of an internal process currently underway. The station is committed to following due process, and no further details will be shared at this stage. Updates will be provided once the internal process has been concluded and a final decision has been reached."

Without divulging any more information, the announcement sparked scepticism on social media, as fans demanded answers to what could have led to the suspension.

Phenduka shares a breakfast slot with Sizwe Dhlomo, called Siz The World, and, in 2024, was rumoured to be leaving the station, although Dhlomo later dispelled the allegations.

He is also a co-host on Podcast and Chill with MacG, both of whom recently faced controversy and more trouble with actress Minnie Dlamini over Mac's disparaging comments about her.

Sol recently celebrated his third work anniversary at Kaya on 1 July, but it may have been his last.
