South African Bacardi queen Jelly Babie is back on the trending list as a video of her in a sangoma attire went viral on social media.

Briefly News had previously reported on Tuesday, 19 August 2025, that the 19-year-old musician had accepted her ancestral calling and was going to an initiation school after she put the journey on hold for two years.

An online user @Zikamnyamane posted a video of the performer who tied the knot in September 2024, at an initiation ceremony in Mzansi, doing the sangoma dance in the middle of a crowd, which quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, 20 August 2025.

Speaking about her spiritual journey to Sunday World, Jelly Babie said that she won't be pausing her music career as her ancestors will have to understand that this is her passion, and she can focus both on her career and spirituality at the same time.

"Music is my passion; how can I stop making music? My ancestors know. Music is my other gift. I am still young. There is time for everything. I wear my normal clothes and put on make-up and a wig; I am not going to change who I am. All the challenges I faced were because of this. It is starting to make sense," she said.
