Viewers are just weeks away from the long-awaited release of Beauty and the Bester.

The three-part doc-series will explore the lives of controversial criminal, Thabo Bester, and his lover, notorious celebrity doctor Dr Nandipha Magudumana.

On Wednesday, 20 August 2025, Netflix released the official trailer for the documentary, complete with commentary from journalists and celebrities, with court footage from Bester and Magudumana's ongoing trial:

"How far would she go for love? This three-part documentary series examines Dr Nandipha’s connection to Thabo Bester’s outrageous prison escape."

The trailer also features an interview with Magudumana's father, Zolile Sekeleni, who is one of the accused, as well as the haunting March 2023 Woolworths picture that led to Bester and Magudumana's arrest.

The premiere date is 12 September, and South Africans are itching to learn how Magudumana carelessly threw her life away for a convicted criminal. Watch the trailer below:
