Yup! Best believe, Youngins, is coming back for its third and final season in September 2025, and the actress and casting director of the show, Keneilwe Matidze, recently spilled the tea on what's to come on the teen drama.

During an interview with the Showmax team, Matidze talked about what went down during the auditions of this series at the start and how she had always thought it would be a hit by just experiencing their energetic spirit and personalities during the auditions.

Matidze said:

"The auditions were buzzing with energy. Kids came from early morning until late at night, and even after hours, we all found ourselves dancing together outside. The excitement was contagious. I remember thinking, if I were in the audience, I’d be completely drawn in. The talent was incredible, and the story Tshedza Productions shared sounded truly unique. Everyone gave it their all."

Keneilwe also revealed what made the young actor Lebogang Lephotsoana fit for his role as Tumelo, which quickly became a fan favourite since the show aired in season one.

"We needed versatile talents—kids who could act, sing, and dance. Lebo was always dancing, full of energy and positivity. Tumelo acts as the anchor in their friendship group, and Lebo naturally assumes that role effortlessly. He’s collaborative, energetic, and even helped me get better at TikTok slang and dance moves! He began with raw talent and developed into a wonderful actor," she said.

Toka added:

"I get why adults enjoy Youngins - it gives them a nostalgic feel, almost like a modern-day Yizo Yizo. But for young people, it’s more than just entertainment. They see themselves in us , the good and the bad, and it becomes a learning experience. It’s an educational show for kids, without a doubt: holistic and true."
