According to Sky News, the incident, which took place on Sunday, 27 July, caused a forced emergency landing at Scotland's Glasgow Airport after the man yelled that he had a bomb on board and wanted to "send a message" to American President Donald Trump, who was visiting the country at the time.

Passenger threatens to bomb easyJet flight, forces emergency
The suspect, who has only been identified as a 41-year-old man, started yelling, "Allahu Akbar!" and threatening Trump, who was only an hour away at his Turnberry golf course. According to a terrifying video captured on the easyJet flight 609, the man said the following:

The man yelled before he was quickly tackled to the ground by fellow passengers. The clip shared by Fox News on 29 July 2025 on TikTok showcases the intense and terrifying moment, which has since gained over 19 million views, along with thousands of likes and comments
A witness who spoke to The Sun said that the man shouted his threats after emerging from the restroom at around 8 a.m., just one hour after the plane took off from London's Luton Airport.
“At that point, one guy managed to grab him from behind and pull him down, then everyone jumped on top of him. He was fighting a bit on the floor, but at this point, he knew he’d f***** up," the passenger said.
Several passengers blasted the suspect as an 'idiot' for threatening innocent people in a stunt directed at Trump, while the men holding him in place were seen questioning him.
Police and airport officials brought the guy into jail after the heroic passengers managed to hold him in place until the plane landed, and they confirmed there were no explosives on board.
Authorities heard the suspect inquire about his missing wallet and phone as they led him off the plane. One of the passengers yelled, "F*** off!" and the entire plane burst into laughter.
