Kaizer Chiefs manager Nasreddine Nabi has opened up on the reason behind Amakhosi's defeat against Asante Kotoko in the Toyota Cup final this weekend.
The Glamour Boys invested a lot in transfers this summer with the likes of Flavio Silva, Nkanyisa Shinga, Elvis Chilsett, Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako all joining the club and had the chance to showcase them to their fans for the first time since they arrived from the Netherlands this weekend, but they stumbled to defeat against the Ghanaian club side at the FNB Stadium.
Inacio Miguel missed two penalties, one during the game and the second one during shootouts, as the Soweto giants lost 3-2 on penalties.

"I think it was a very instructive game," Nabi told SABC Sport. "The performance gave us a lot of answers, both in terms of what we’ve been working on and what still needs improvement. Overall, it was a positive display."
"We had chances to win during the game, but didn’t take them. We also had the opportunity to win on penalties, but missed again. It’s unfortunate because we really wanted to give our supporters a victory and end the day on a joyful note. But penalties are unpredictable."

Nabi acknowledged that the team’s physical condition has improved significantly, especially following their pre-season training in Europe. With one week left before the domestic season begins, the focus now shifts to fine-tuning.
"The support has been very encouraging, and physically, we’re heading in the right direction. This final week of pre-season is crucial. This match helped us identify the areas where we still have issues, and also highlighted the quality we possess."
"We’ll use this to push for better quality and to correct the negatives. There were certainly some aspects today that gave me satisfaction."
