Mamelodi Sundowns star Aubrey Modiba recently tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony, which was graced by his closest teammates.

In attendance were fellow Bafana Bafana player Teboho Mokoena, along with other Masandawana teammates such as Grant Kekana and Sphelele Mkhulise.

Modiba’s Future at Sundowns

The Sundowns left-back will be hoping to regain his place in the starting line-up this coming season. Last season, he lost his spot to Zimbabwean international Divine Lunga.

Modiba has been with the Brazilians since 2020, following his move from the now-defunct SuperSport United. Since joining Sundowns, he has made 163 appearances, scored nine goals, and provided 17 assists.

He has lifted the league title with the Pretoria-based side on four occasions and made 35 appearances last season. However, he did not feature in any match during the FIFA Club World Cup.

Cardoso speaks on the absence of key Sundowns players

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has explained why Khuliso Mudau, Lucas Ribeiro and Peter Shalulile were absent in the Brazilian's win over Richards Bay in the MTN8 quarter-final.

The Pretoria giants hit four past the Natal RichBoyz to secure a place in the semi-final, with Iqraam Rayners stealing the show with a Man of the Match performance in the absence of the trio.
