Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has disclosed how the gamble he took in the second half helped Amakhosi secure a well-deserved victory against Richards Bay in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday evening.
The Soweto giants struggled for most of the first half, but the introduction of former Mamelodi Sundowns star Gaston Sirino changed the game in the second half.

The Uruguayan-born midfielder scored the only goal of the game in the 57th minute, securing the Glamour Boys' third consecutive victory in the league this season.
Amakhosi are still without their first-team coach, Nasreddine Nabi, who is attending to a family emergency in Tunisia.

Youssef explains how Chiefs defeated Richards Bay:
In an interview after the match, Youssef opened up about the tactical gamble he took alongside the other coaching staff that secured all three points for Amakhosi against the Natal Rich Boys.
He admitted that they expected a tough match against their opponent and had to make some tactical adjustments during halftime.
“Even before the match, during the press conference yesterday, we anticipated it would be a challenging game,” Youssef told SuperSport TV. “At halftime, we spoke about some tactical adjustments we needed to make.”
“The tempo had to increase, and the first half saw strong rotation, but we knew we needed to take a chance. We decided to substitute Ox (Sibongiseni Mthethwa) and bring on Thabo Cele, with Mshini and Sirino playing centrally. It turned out to be the right decision; Sirino ended up scoring.”
The North African coach spoke about the coaching crew being a bit frustrated as they tried to manage the game in the second half.
“In the second half, we tried to manage the game, but honestly, we were a bit frustrated. In matches like this, you have to get that second goal to put it to bed," he added.
"Instead, we started engaging with the crowd a bit too much. Still, I’m glad the fans had fun—they really enjoyed themselves today."
The Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach also spoke about the Glamour Boys' next focus after securing all three points against Richards Bay.
“Now that this one’s behind us, from tomorrow, our focus shifts to the next challenge, the Sundowns game. Hopefully, the supporters enjoyed today’s performance,” he concluded.
Kaizer Chiefs next match would be against the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, with Miguel Cardoso seeking for a revenge after his team were controversially knocked of the Nedbank Cup by the Soweto giants last season.
